SIGCSE Awards for 2025

The SIGCSE Board is honored to announce the 2025 ACM SIGCSE Award winners:

• The 2025 SIGCSE Award for Outstanding Contribution to Computer Science Education is awarded to Mitchel Resnick, LEGO Papert Professor of Learning Research and head of the Lifelong Kindergarten research group at the MIT Media Lab, USA.

• The 2025 SIGCSE Award for Distinguished Service to the Computer Science Education Community is awarded to Manuel A Pérez-Quiñones, Professor of Software and Information Systems at the University of North Carolina at Charlotte, USA .

• The 2025 SIGCSE Award for Broadening Participation in Computing Education is awarded to Jonathan Mwaura, Associate Teaching Professor at the Khoury College of Computer Sciences at Northeastern University, USA.

• The 2025 ACM SIGCSE Test of Time Award is awarded to the paper Methods and Tools for Exploring Novice Compilation Behaviour by Matthew C. Jadud, In Proceedings of the second international workshop on Computing education research (ICER ‘06). Association for Computing Machinery, New York, NY, USA, 73–84. https://doi.org/10.1145/1151588.1151600

• The Outstanding Contribution, Distinguished Service, and Broadening Participation awards will be recognized at the 2025 SIGCSE Technical Symposium in Pittsburgh, Pennsylvania, USA, 26 Feb - 1 March 2025. The Test of Time award will be recognized at the 2025 ICER Conference in Charlottesville, Virginia, USA, 3 - 6 August 2025.
