The SIGCSE Board is pleased to announce the creation of an ACM approved SIG award to commemorate the 50th SIGCSE Technical Symposium to be held in Minneapolis, MN February 27-March 1, 2019.
The ACM SIGCSE Top Ten Symposium Papers of All Time Award recognizes the outstanding papers published in the first 49 Proceedings of the Annual ACM Technical Symposium. The first step in this process is to solicit nominations from the SIGCSE community for candidates for this award.
Please go to: https://goo.gl/forms/7t8QzQChg4cXN8dP2 to nominate as many papers as you believe are worthy of consideration. Nominations require the name of the paper, URL or DOI to help us find the paper, and a brief (1000 character maximum) explanation as to why the paper is worthy of this award. This nomination phase closes November 30, 2018.
After nominations close, the committee will narrow the pool of nominations to 20. In January 2019, the committee will then ask the SIGCSE community to vote on the papers to create a top ten ranking. The final ranking will be revealed at the symposium in Minneapolis and the coauthors of the top paper will receive a plaque, free conference registration for one co-author to accept the award and up to a total of $2,000 that can be used toward travel for all authors of the top ranked paper.
